Chicken Chow Mein
Ingredients:
- Packet thread egg noodles
- 225g chicken – skinned & boned
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 2 cloves garlic – finely chopped
- 1 onion – finely sliced
- 1 can bean sprouts or 1 can water chestnuts
- 2 large carrots – shredded
- 3 tbsp. light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
Method:
- Allow one layer of noodles per person. Drop into large pan of boiling water, and immediately remove from heat. In 4 minutes the noodles will be perfectly cooked.
- Finely slice chicken into thin slices to match the shape of the noodles.
- Stir fry the chicken in the oil for about 4 minutes until almost cooked.
- Add onion, garlic & carrots and cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
- Finally add the bean sprouts, soy sauce, sugar, salt, sesame oil and the noodles. Mix ingredients well, heat through and serve.
