Flapjacks
Ingredients:
- 330g margarine
- 2tbsp golden syrup
- 250g demerara sugar
- 500g oat flakes
- 2-3 tbsp mixed chopped nuts (optional)
Method:
- Melt margarine, sugar and syrup in a pan, over a low heat, then add the nuts.
- Stir in the oat flakes, ensuring they are completely covered, then transfer to a lightly greased tin (approx 30cm/12” square).
- Bake in a moderately hot oven (180C/350F/Gas Mark 4) for about 20 minutes.
- Mark into fingers/squares while still warm.
