Rocket Racing League
This should be a bit more interesting than the Grand Procession that Formula 1 motorsport has now become. Rocket Racing League is a pretty insane concept launched by the man behind the $10m X-Prize for the first private spacecraft. It is hoped that this will bring more development and publicity into rocketeering and space travel. More at the BBC Science page.
This is an interesting (an probably highly dangerous) concept, but I don’t suppose it will come to our little corner of the world any time soon. It also must be pretty damaging in terms of CO2 emissions, although I suppose the only long term sustainable solution for the human race will be space travel when we exhaust the resources of our planet.
