Tuna Steaks
A very simple, but rather tasty way of cooking tuna steaks, inspired by other recipes I found on the internet, but adapted as I didn’t have all their ingredients. This worked well, so I’ll just use this from now on.
Marinade (per steak):
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp crushed chillies
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 2 tsp roasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 tsp orange juice
Mix all the ingredients together, then sit the steak(s) in the marinade, making sure to cover both sides liberally. Leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours for the flavour to infuse.
Sear the tuna steak on both sides in a very hot pan, with a little bit of olive oil, then cook for a minute more on each side, the steak should be dark brown with singe marks, but deliciously tender and pink in the centre.
Serve with simple boiled potatoes and veg, and eat straight away.
