NASA’s picture of the day from yesterday hammers home the fact that we are very small—and living in a very big universe.

The photo, is of a small (10° × 7°) section of the night sky, looking at the crowded star fields toward the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. APOD: 2006 June 23 – East of Antares.

Looking at the millions of stars, most of them substantially bigger and brighter than our own sun “Sol”, makes me think just how small we are.
