“The Miracle: (Alder)”
THE MIRACLE uses images drawn from the Alder: the leaf, twigs and catkins. This is a tree which can resist the decaying influence of water. During March and early April, the saturated earth begins to dry: there is a surge of rebirth and renewal. Since the time of the ancient Greeks, the alder has been considered one of the trees of resurrection.
