The Trees of Life
“What Will Be, Will Be (Hazel)”

WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE uses images drawn from the Hazel: nuts, the coppiced trunk, leaves. The ninth month of the Celtic calendar ran through August, a time of fruitfulness and harvesting. The hazel was the tree of authority and of hidden knowledge; the nut in Celtic legend is an emblem of concentrated wisdom.
