The Trees of Life
“Advent (Rowan)”

Advent (Rowan)

ADVENT uses images drawn from the Rowan, known also as the quickbeam or quicken: the leaf, berries, seed, and the silhouette of the twigs. This second tree in the Celtic calendar was the symbol of the lunar month from January into February. It was associated with magic, with the pentagon on the berries. Here is a flame of hope as life quickens and develops.
