The Trees of Life
“Breath of Spring (Willow)”

BREATH OF SPRING uses images from the Willow: male and female catkins, the pollarded trunk, the leaf. May Day, which is famous for orgiastic revels and magic dew, falls in the middle of this Celtic month. The original meaning of the willow was harmony and inspiration. The willow loves water; and the cut willows re-sprout and root well, symbolising powers of regeneration.
