EMI sales climb without DRM

Macworld is reporting that more EMI tracks are being sold now that they are available in a higher bitrate (better quality) DRM free versions. EMI sales climb on iTunes Plus plan.

Let’s hope that other record labels take note and get rid of DRM. As plenty of other people have noted, DRM only hurts honest customers. It is (relatively) trivial to break if you know where to look for instructions, and you can be bothered with the hassle. However, if you just want to play your music where you want, you can’t with DRM.

How long before the film industry responds with DRM free releases… I fear that this will take longer.
