Another interesting article by George Monbiot in The Guardian (If an hour is a long time in politics, we must start thinking in centuries) which discusses the current economic and future environmental crises in terms of single term political goals.

Politics is the art of shifting trouble from the living to the unborn.

I hate to think that we are doomed, but it is becoming clearer that something big has to change if our children (and their children…) are to have a decent world left to grow up in. Hopefully the people in charge will see that long term growth (both in population, and in economic prosperity) is not sustainable, and in all probability, not possible.

After searching the internet for recipes for pizza dough, I tried this one by Anthony Worrall Thompson BBC - Food – Recipes – Perfect pizza dough, which was quite tasty. I made it with wholemeal stoneground flour, which gives a more filling base—although possibly not to everyone’s liking.

Another amusingly poorly illustrated article on the BBC News website, about torrential rain and flooding in Fife, with roads becoming “impassible”. Problem is, the stock photo shows a sunny day and a road with an inch of water flowing across it…

In situations like these, it would probably be much better to not illustrate the article…
